Question: Do the members / partners need to buy Workers' Compensation Insurance?

Answer: The rules governing Workers' Compensation are different in each state. But generally, members of a Limited Liability Company, general partners of a partnership, or sole proprietors of an unincorporated business are not required to carry Workers' Compensation Insurance for themselves. Some states allow members / partners to elect to be covered on an optional basis.
